This project started with a deck that needed help. The homeowner wanted a stronger structure, a new surface, safer stairs, better posts, and a dry outdoor space under the deck that they could use during any weather. Our team rebuilt each part of the structure to give them a long lasting and comfortable outdoor area.
The frame had several issues that needed repair. We reinforced weak spots and corrected areas that no longer met current standards. Strong framing is the base for every deck we build, and it made the rest of this renovation possible.
We installed TimberTech Reserve decking in Reclaimed Chestnut. It gives the deck a clean, modern look and provides low maintenance performance. The trim is TimberTech Legacy in Pecan, which adds contrast and ties the design together.
The old stairs were replaced with new framing and new composite treads and risers. The new stairs match the deck and give the homeowner a solid, safe way to reach the yard.
The posts were wrapped in Miratec for a cleaner look and stronger long term performance. The wrapped posts also help the entire structure blend nicely with the home.
The homeowner wanted to use the lower patio even when it rains. We installed Trex RainEscape to carry water away from the space and covered the ceiling with Spruce beadboard. The customer selected a V groove look for a detailed finish. Once painted with Sherwin Williams, the entire area became a comfortable outdoor room they can enjoy any time.
This renovation strengthened the structure, improved safety, and created two outdoor spaces instead of one. The upper deck is now a clean and modern space for hosting or relaxing. The lower patio is a dry, protected area the homeowner can use during any season.
For anyone working with an aging deck, a renovation like this can extend the life of the structure and make your entire backyard more usable.
